What's Changed

Silkwood has moved from individual, separately managed Canva accounts to a single Canva for Education organisation. This means all staff and students are now part of one verified Silkwood workspace, provided free through Canva's education program.

Being an organisation gives us centrally managed access, shared Silkwood brand templates and folders, and a safer, education-focused environment for students. You no longer need a personal Canva subscription for school work — your access comes through Silkwood.

Signing In — Single Sign-On (SSO)

Access is now linked to your Silkwood Microsoft / Office 365 account through Single Sign-On. There's no separate Canva password to remember — you log in with the same credentials you use for Outlook and Teams.

How to sign in:

  1. Go to Canva and choose Log in.
  2. Select Continue with Microsoft.
  3. Enter your Silkwood email (e.g. firstname.lastname@silkwood.qld.edu.au) and your usual Microsoft password.
  4. You'll land in the Silkwood organisation workspace — look for the Silkwood team in the top corner.

Working with Classes

Teachers can create classes in Canva to bring students together in one place — set assignments, share templates, and give feedback on student designs, all within the Silkwood organisation.

  1. Open your Canva account and go to TeachersClass.
  2. Create a class and add students by their Silkwood email, or share the class invite link.
  3. Post assignments and templates for students to open, edit, and submit.
  4. Review and comment on student work directly inside each design.
